MODTHEBOX would like to thank Ben from Mountain Mods
for sending the Twice7 Aluminum Cube Computer Case for review.
Introduction:
The LAN Party environment offers a unique experience for dedicated gamers; allowing individuals to come
together under one venue to enjoy the best gaming titles for the PC platform. One of the challenges
involved in attending a LAN Party is the ability to easily transport a computer system and accessories.
As a solution, a number of manufacturers have developed transport systems as well as LAN style computer
enclosures designed specifically for the gaming community. Last year MTB had the privilege of
introducing our readers to Mountain Mods and named their U2UFO chassis one our top picks for 2003. The
company has been busy working on new product revisions to the original U2UFO design and now offers a
LAN style chassis marketed under the Twice7 brand name. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the
new Mountain Mods Twice7 Cube Computer Case, a custom designed aluminum chassis for hardcore gaming
enthusiasts.
Specifications:
The Twice7 Aluminum Cube is just one of four different custom packages available on the Mountain Mods
website. Consumers have the option of purchasing the Twice7 in a barebones configuration, accessorized
with Blue, Green or Red style LED fans, triple window design and a Vantec NXP-201 Nexus Fan Controller.
Here are some specifications taken directly from the Mountain Mods website:

The Twice7 Aluminum Cube Computer Case arrived in good condition and was shipped in standard cardboard
packaging via FedEx Ground. The package was very light weight and contained no district markings other
than the included packaging slip and company address. Upon opening up the packaging, the case is secured
using a series of polystyrene pieces which have been placed around each corner of the cube. The case itself
was enclosed in a black garbage bag.

The Twice7 Aluminum Cube Computer Case included a Mountain Mods Red Package which consists of a small
assortment of accessories which include metal PCI slot brackets, motherboard stand-offs, mounting screws, 2 x 80mm
Galaxy Quad LED Fans, 3 x 120mm Galaxy Quad LED Fans and a Vantec NXP-201 Nexus Fan Controller. The
80mm Galaxy Quad LED fans feature 4 super bright LEDs and are capable of pushing 32.5 CFM at 2500 RPM
with a noise level of 28.8 dBA. The 120mm Galaxy Quad LED fans also feature 4 super bright LEDs and are
capable of pushing 69.15 CFM at 2400 RPM with a noise level of 39.29 dBA. The Vantec NXP-201 Nexus Fan
Controller connects up to 4 fans and allows you manually adjust the fan speed and noise level. The fan
speed is determined by the variable speed potentiometer settings which vary the voltage of the fan from
7V-12V as well as support 15-18 watts per channel.
