The back portion of the U2-UFO Aluminum Cube Computer Case features a standard PSU mount, I/O ATX back plate opening, expansion slots, and five additional fan mounts. There are four 80mm fan mounts, with thee positioned in front of the internal 3.5" drive bay location and one additional 80mm at the top portion on the right side of the case. One more additional 120mm fan mount is integrated with the location of the motherboard tray. The U2-UFO Aluminum Cube Computer Case also comes equipped with plenty of expansion room in the form of 7 PCI/AGP slots ready for use. The tabs covering the slots can be easily removed once the motherboard has been mounted.

One of the nice design aspects of the U2-UFO is that the PSU mount is located towards the bottom of the case instead of the top portion of the case. The orientation of the PSU mount can handle any type of standard ATX power supply including units which use dual fan configurations. Despite the large amount of room available in this case, MountainMods was smart enough to offer a slide out motherboard tray option. A slide out motherboard tray is a must for any system builder and simplifies the installation and maintenance of hardware and system components from outside the case. To remove the tray all that is required is to unscrew four thumbscrews from the rear portion of the case. Once the thumbscrews have been removed the tray slides out with ease.

To access the interior of the U2-UFO Aluminum Cube Computer Case requires separating the one piece "U" shaped top panel from the bottom panel. The top portion of the case does not use a three panel configuration seen on most cube cases currently on the market. The U2-UFO receives its name by using a chassis design typically seen on most desktop cases. There are a total of 14 thumbscrews (7 on each side) that must be removed in order to access the case interior. I found this type of set-up a little tedious and would have preferred removable side panels. The one piece "U" shaped top panel does not use any clips or hooks to keep it in place, rather it sits comfortably on top of the case chassis and is held in place by the thumbscrews.
