Introduction:
A LAN Party event can often mean hauling around an assortment of equipment including a monitor,
accessories and a steel computer case. The introduction of aluminum based mid-tower and full
tower cases from companies such as Lian Li and Cooler Master has recently become the standard
for most gamers looking for a product that incorporates function and design. One issue that
has kept most gamers from migrating from steel to aluminum based cases is the associated price.
However, a few manufacturers have taken it upon themselves to create economical based computer
cases which retail for much less and at the same time offer an abundance of features found in
more expensive models. Today in the MTB Labs, we will be evaluating the Chenming Silver 301KE
Mid-Tower Case, a new product designed specifically for the budget gaming crowd.
Specifications:
The Chenming Silver 301KE Mid-Tower Case is a pre-modified mid-tower case that incorporates several
modifications and is available in three different colour options (black, silver and blue). The
case is priced under the sub $100 US margin and is targeted specfically as a LAN case. Here are some

The Chenming Silver 301KE Mid-Tower Case arrived in a double-walled corrugated cardboard box, labeled
with the part number and manufacturing country on the side. The case was sealed in protected plastic
with two pieces of polystyrene located on top and bottom to prevent any shock damage during shipping.
The package itself arrived without any visible damage, and upon opening the box, my initial impressions
were positive.

The case measures approximately 205mm (W) x 425mm (H) x 400mm (D) and weighs only 5kg which is
consistent with all aluminum constructed cases.
