Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger Bag

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Do you need bomb proof ballistic nylon to protect your laptop and Monster drinks. If so, here is the bag. Timbuk2’s laptop messenger bag has, along with the bombproof ballistic nylon, a water proof liner. The bag is washable in case you do happen to be near any bomb blasts and get it dirty. The bag has a dedicated spot for a laptop and plenty of room for accessories.

Timbuk2 has a big following and claim it’s the ‘last bag you’ll ever need’. Priced around $80 it would make a great gift for that someone on the go. Other stylish colors are available if black is too boring.

Corsair Flash Survivor GT – Indestructable Thumbdrive

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Most thumb drives seem to be able to take the normal daily abuse of carrying them around in bags or pockets. If you need one to go beyond that, this is the one for you. Corsair’s Flash Survivor USB drives should be able to handle anything you can throw at it.

They are made with a CNC-milled, aircraft-grade aluminum casing. With the case on, the seal provides a water proof seal down to 200 meters. Now you can take your data with you when you go diving!

Priced around $205 for the 64GB model, these are going to be a little more expensive, but they are worth it if you need a drive to ’survive’ abuse.

A-DATA SH93 Waterproof, Shockproof External Harddrive

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Have you been looking for an external hard drive that can take the abuse like a Panasonic Toughbook? The A-DATA SH93 is what you need. The claims for this drive are waterproof and shockproof. While we don’t recommend taking it diving with you or launching it out of a potato gun, it should better survive daily wear and tear that laptops normally have to deal with.
This is a great drive to throw in your laptop bag. It has a rubberized case to keep it and other things from getting dinged up. There is only one short USB (2.0) cable you have to keep up with and it wraps around the drive when not in use. This would be great for students, road warriors, or anyone who is always on the go with their equipment.

Priced at reasonable $114 with a 500GB drive, you can get in red, yellow or custom color (You provide the paint).

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speakers (for people who don’t want ass speakers)

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

For those who aren’t comfortable with having ass speakers on your desk, Klipsch has come out with some wireless speakers. Not wireless to each other, but wireless to the computer. A USB dongle can transmit up to 30 feet away relieving you from being tethered to speakers. The THX-certified sound should be a big improvement over the tiny crappy speakers in your laptop. Priced around $199.

Asspeakers…what else can we say?

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

For all of you out there wishing you had some computer speakers that looked like an ass, you’ll have to keep waiting as these speakers are only a concept. Great features are integrated into these speakers: You tap one cheek to power on and off and rub the other cheek for volume. Too bad this is only a concept, there are multiple target audiences I can think of that would love to have these.

Self-Disinfecting Keyboard

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Afraid a co-worker got H1N1 all over your workstation? Try this self-disinfecting keyboard by Vioguard. A UV light fries viruses (organic ones, not the software kind), but for $899 you might want to just try washing your current crusty keyboard.
